Editing Clip In Premiere!!!

Postby -Elin- » Sat Aug 05, 2006 12:57 pm

Well I know very well that you can't edit footage that are compressed as DivX/XviD.

The thing is that I don't really wanna compress the footage into Huffyuv..The episodes turn into a massive size (6GB+).

I also don't like cutting up clips in VdubMod, and turning to huffyuv, its annoying and im not sure what clips I need unless I import the whole ep into premiere.

I wanted to know if there was another method of editing my footage in premiere instead of turning them into a huffyuv!

I forgot to mention that my friend taught me how to..by like opening the footage into Vdubmod via avisynth and then closing it. Then importing the footage into premiere, that worked but then the footage was all pixely. So I deleted DivX codec thinking it was that...And now my footage dont work in premiere no more, I tried doing that avi synth trick again but didnt work..

Sorry for the big post! Please help, I really want to begin my amv.

Uhh well..........

If you did some more planning for your video as far... how you want the video to look and all that... then you wouldn't have to import the whole episode into premiere. If you have the patience I suggest that you pull the clips you want out of the episodes. But If you really want to use the whole episode then you could encode them as "lagarrith". You can get the lagarith codec in "amvapp". Which is some where in the guides....but i don't feel like finding it. :/

You can import an avisynth script into Premiere like you seem to have tried... but the results are often the same as trying to edit directly with DivX. I'd suggest getting over it and clipping or giving up.

The version of Lagarith in the AMVApp is an older one. The site for the codec is here.

That's strange, I do. I encoded to Divx with FLASKmpeg and worked from there. It's not recomended by people on this site but turns out alright for me.
Where did you say I'm going?.... And what am I doing in a handbasket?
