Unfortantly I have a Powerbook so thats not possible.... I am working towards a MacBook but thats not going to happen right away so I have some time to work with FCP and the more I do the more I like it.

Plus I also have a Dell 9300 w/the nVidia 6800 coming my way... so its either going to be that laptop or a macbook.... but I hate going back to windows... I like macs always have :p (Thats def not a debate to start here)

So anyway I am back to read on your time frame extending as I def found a good place to use it.

Also here is a direct question.

How do I add text to a movie? I do not want it in the video frame (aka I want a black or blank background for all but one spot I think) so I was curious as to both ways to do that. I just thought of it after watching it for the 50th time but I am working on a time idea first then I will go to that. [/i]
I stayed up one night playing poker with Tarot cards. I got a full house and 4 people died.

Fit to Fill: Forces a clip to fit a certain length. If it's too short, the clip slows down. If it's too long, the clip speeds up.

You can do one of two things with FTF:
A. Set In and Out Points in the Timeline (or Canvas). FTF will take your Viewer clip, make it the right length, then REPLACE anything between those in and out points.

Ok but wheres the FTF Tool? Not sure what to look for tthere. I will try finding the info in the guide.

However I am working on the main video itself not the clips as I pretty much have everything in place and have shown the video to others (I hope this is making sense). However now that I know about FTF I want to use it to correct some things and well.... I am lost. I know the points. I have the clip ready and I have the timeline it needs to fit ready... I am just not sure what to do to make it work yet.

FTF isn't a tool in the toolbox, it's an option when you drag a clip from the Viewer to the Canvas. Remember the rainbow colored overlay that had things like "overwrite" and "replace"? Choose fit to fill from that.

There are text generators in the Effects window in the Generators section. There's a few to choose from..like just "Text" or "Basic Text" and such.

Yes I looked at your pics again and it just clicked. I just got done redoing the video and wow... I noticed a small slow down that seemed to much in just one spot but I fixed it. I really like that feature lol. NO more just filling space because its there :p.

Thanks so much I will play with the text next but now its time to compare V2.0 to V3.0 lol this is def. a completely different V this time around.

I will be sure to bug you further as you seem to def have things 100% in line. I am going to DL ur posts here so I can be sure to keep the guides and points you have given me.

I can not thank you enough.
