Premiere Pro--Changing frame size

Postby Ekplixi » Mon Jul 31, 2006 7:11 pm

Hey all,

A friend recently gave me a fabulous gift of a copy of Adobe Premiere. I'm trying to use it to make a video. I've imported a clip which works just fine in the source view. However, when I put it in a sequence and tried to play it, it wouldn't play. All I get is snow.

I suspect it's the frame size. I've set the project frame at its default, 720 x 480. However, the clip is 608 x 448. I went back to the project menu, but Premiere won't let me change the frame size no matter how hard I try.

So, two questions!

1. How do I change the frame size?
2. Will that make the clip play normally? If not, what's wrong?

Thanks so much!

what is the codec used to encode the file - idoubt its frame size.

I think You cant change those project settings after you start. Best solution for you is to make a new one if you want different settings.

I already did make a new project; it still won't let me change the frame size.

And I'm using .avi files. The properties tab tells me that they are compressed with DivX.

Sorry for the double-post.

I managed to fix the frame size, but the video still doesn't play back. I also downloaded the DivX codec, but no dice. Any ideas?

Don't edit with DivX
