can't import video on vegas 6.0

Postby newbornankh » Wed Jul 26, 2006 1:56 pm

for som reason vegas won't let me inport some of the anime I have.

the only solution I have is recompressing the video with Divx
but that just ruins the quality plus it takes a long time.

do any of you know how to fix this?

What are you importing from? Knowing that might help. DivX won't work anyways--video editors don't like the DivX/XviD codecs for importing.

Lagarith. Compresses smaller, but I've heard some people have issues with it.

Re-encoding will take a while, there's no helping that--just prepare all the files to re-encode with VDM and have it all run overnight. If you know what scenes you want to use you can also just re-encode those clips. Takes longer ot set up, but less time to process and saves your disc space.

Are you kidding me. I've heard the other way around. I've used huffy for about 2 years or so then switched to Legarith.. and stopped having issues completely.. damn Huffyuv caused so many issues and it's not even as customizable so I say go with Lagarith. Also there is a way to get DivX/XviD working in Vegas no problem but I'm not willing to tell you because it's not reccomended to work with those formats. Best bet is to convert them to either huffyuv or legarith.

1. Install divx.
2. Disable divx fourcc devoding from XviD's options.
3. Change your episodes' fourCC from XviD to divx(in both fields).
4. Use the now available source.
5. ????
6. Profit.
