Do I have to do it manually? T_T

Postby Gepetto » Wed Jul 26, 2006 10:55 am

Short and simple: Is there a way to make an image or text shake around the screen without having to define each motion keyframe myself? I want it random.

P.S.:I'm using Premiere Pro.

Thanks in advance

Not at all a problem. It's much better to ask similar questions in one place than to cluster the forums with repeated threads.

I don't think either premiere pro or vegas 4 have any way of doing this automatically.

I think in later versions of vegas that support scripting, you could write a script to generate the effect automatically, though that would probably be more effort than its worth.

For what it's worth, Adobe After Effects can do this.

You are unable to do it in vegas 3, 4, 5, or 6 without defining the keyframes.

I agree with Zarxrax in that their maybe a script out there that can produce that effect.

The Zoom plugin for AviSynth can produce random motion (see the readme for an example).

Drop the Film Effects effect on your clip. Make sure all the Type settings are 0. Then adjust the Jitter setting and preview. Repeat.

This is simulating an old film projector, so the motion you get is mostly vertical. Test it with the Checkerboard preset (Media Generators) to see this in action. You'll have to decide if it works for you.

I have After Effects, but I don't know my way around it at all.

I'm going for something close to what you did in the intro to AMV Hell 3. Was that done in After Effects?

If you mean the text, yes.

sorry for the stupid question, but I really have no idea about what's what in After Effects, so... how and where do I find such an effect in AE?
