Premiere Error?!

Postby Parrot Lover » Thu Jul 20, 2006 6:10 pm

I'm not exactly a compter geek, so let's see...
Premiere suddenly won't start for me. I try to start it, but it says this:

"Adobe Premiere has encountered an error:
[\dev\underdog\Libraries\ASL\Foundation\Src\DirectoryRegistry.cpp-174]"

I tried looking on their site, but it didn't have anything like that on it. I recently got my computer fixed because of a virus, but I've since used it and it was fine...Until today. Can someone please explain this to me?

Thank you for your help.

Well...

The problem is I have a half-finshed AMV on my premiere, and I'm afraid that if I re-install I'll lose it.
'Course knowing MY luck, that's what's gonna happen. Well, I'll search the Net some more, then use Re-Installing as a last resort.
Thanks for the advice!

you only need to worry about the premiere project file and maybe any title files created with the program, just simply back them up.

Make sure you did another virus scan and all that and you could also try the XP system restore points if the problem was recent.

I found out what the problem is. Turns out that some new codec package I'd installed (Well, I was trying to make an Anime I'd downloaded work.) was what was causing it. I got rid of the package and it worked just fine.
