AutoGk Come with:

DGIndex v1.4.6

XviD 1.2 SMP

All you need to do is to put in the Vob File and hit Add Job & Start.
It do all the job for you.

Encoding to xvid for the purposes of editing is foolish. Something like that can work alright for backing up a dvd, but not for making an amv.

One problem with that method is that I know several different types AMV software does not like Xvid at all and tends to crash with it. It's been my experience that after using the DG Index you can just import with no problems, though it's best to leave a few frames beforee and after where you want it to start.

While you can import directly after DGIndex, I wouldn't recommend it. Rather, I would recommend converting to lossless codecs while running your d2v file through an avs script. This will allow you to come out with nice, clean, pretty footage before you even start editing.
