wats the best program 4 dvd ripping that wont mess up ma cpu

my cmpu is a laptop. and it can handle a lot but i don't want to put sumthing on my laptop that might mess it up alot. what is a not great, but a usable dvd ripper i can use for making amvs?

you can still get dvddecrypter from www.doom9.org
dvdFab decrypter is still being developed, and can handle sony's relatively new arccos protection (whereas dvddecrypter can't) you can also find this in the downloads section of doom9.org

...I'm not quite sure why you think a decrypter will mess up your computer (not like a gameshark for N64)...but rest assured, I have dvddecrypter on my laptop...with no issues

the only problem with these programs are that they are both great :roll:
and even greater is the price (free)

okay. well. i tried dvd dicryper but it was so confusing to use. it didn't make any sence and i didn't know what files or whatever to rip. and when its dun, how do you take the different parts of the movie u want and seperate them?

If DVD Decrypter is confusing for you to use, then you're out of luck. That's as easy as it gets

VOBs are what you want and if you need to convert them to AVI then drop them in Virtual Dub and have at it O.O

Only if you want a nice result. =p

Otherwise, no, you can just open the VOBs in VirtualDub directly.
