Premiere Pro 2.0 Help

Postby Akir2k5 » Fri Jul 07, 2006 12:21 pm

I have used premiere pro 2.0 for about 4 months now and all of a sudden it stopped wanting to load the main program, I get the splash (the window showing what plugins are being loaded) and after that it closes and no premiere opens. This happened after I install a new keyboard (Logitech G15) so could this be a connection?

it shouldn't have anything to do with premiere not working...but stranger things have happened.
try re-installing premiere pro, and see if that works

Have you installed or uptadet any codecs recently? I've seen many people experience the same problem (including myself) and most of the times its a codec. It shuts down when loading Reverb6.dll, right?

the codec thing usually stops at reverb6.dll... so you haven't installed any codecs recently? if so, uninstall them and see if premiere works.

Ok problem solved.
If anyone else experiences similiar problems (Premiere wont open the main window) then uninstall any codec packs you have. Then install this codec pack
http://www.xpcodecpack.com/ This pack offers alot of codecs and will allow you to open Premiere succesfully.

The problem was that I had two codec packs installed, this would cause them to try and run together seperatly but at the same time, so only have 1 codec pack installed while using premiere.

Or, just download the codecs you really need. Codec packs usually come with a billion different codecs that you'll never really use, so you should avoid them for the sake of not slowing down your machine.

They also are often so mainstream and their downloading base is so non-techincally inclined that the often come repackeged with all sorts of malware.
