Error after making amv thru WMM

Postby Shadowfox85 » Sun Jul 02, 2006 5:14 pm

Well here I am again, im sure u guys have already read a problem like this before (i couldn't find one topic relating to this though) but anyways

I made my video, and after I save it on my comp as a wmv file, i try playing it, starts out fine, but then after like 20 seconds, the footage gets fuzzy, like i'll see boxes pop on the video and the audio becomes a lil slower or something, and i check out how much work is going on with my processor, and it has SKYROCKETED! The footage then starts getting a lil slow and doesn't catch up with the audio? Any idea whats going on and how to resolve it?

Hate to double post but actually i just kinda found something out. Its just not that file anymore. Its all my other wmv files, like i tried playing one of my own previous amv's thats in wmv form and it also starting slowing up the video and the processor just went up again! this hasn't happened to me before. Only thing i can think is that I uninstalled my batch of codecs (K lite pack) and reinstalled it again with the "full" version b/c i was having problems importing my footage into WMM (again with K lite codecs). I dont know if this could be a reason why, anyone with ideas would be awesome!

Hmm.. Sounds like you're right. Your video codecs sound messed up. If when you re-install them, they still do not work, I would update your computer with windows update (assuming that it is windows), or try downloading and installing a new media player.

Winamp

Windows Media Player 11 Beta

DivX

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the advice, though i tried different packs and finally found one that at least resolves my problem with playing wmv files in general, but still that one AMV that i initially had troubled with still were suffering the same problems.

So i tried doing another version with a lil less quality and smaller size, and worked out much better, the processor work didn't skyrocket like the other, ,but only one big problem still remains, there are still "glitch boxes" that pop up, specifically during some fast scenes, so idk how to resolve that part.

Also another thing, even though i resolved my problem with playing wmv files in general, now some of my mkv and ogm files are messed up. When i play them in VLC or WMP classic, they run fine in their default size, but when i try to do Full Screen, it starts slowing up and the processor speed starts going up again. IDK what the heck is going on? Man all i did was a lil change with codecs and everything messed up *sigh* anyone else run into this same type of problem?

I feel your pain. It happened to me on my last computer. I just eventually had to system restore my computer back to way back. Lost a lot of programs doing that....

Haha, wow why didn't I think of that? Anyways thanks, I did that, and i lost a few programs, but ya it took care of my problem, well at least with the problem with the processor working to hard, so now my avi, ogm, mkv, and wmv files work.

Well now I only have one question, I still have the problem with the glitchy boxes appearing in my amv (its a FF7AC amv) and i used WMM2 to make the clips and stuff (this is an avi file my footage). Should i have saved it in a different format before importing it? or is there a different way i should save this project? any ideas?

Is this AVI file you're using encoded using the DivX or Xvid codec? That's probably the reason why you're getting those glitchy boxes. Just use VirtualdubMod to convert those DivX/Xvid AVI files to AVI files using the Huffyuv or Lagarith codecs.
