Good freeware movie maker?

Postby Basarakun » Wed Jun 28, 2006 9:49 pm

Well, I was making an AMV in WMM, and all of a sudden it froze, then I came up to the realization that WMM just plain sucks, at least on my computer. And for that reason, I'm looking for another free movie making program, that breaks your movie into clips, and let's you add music to the movie. If there are no free movie makers out there, than a cheap movie maker would be fine.

For free and FREE editors peruse this thread: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/phpBB/v ... hp?t=46136

As for something good but cheap, I recommend Magix Movie Edit Pro 10 for US$29.99. http://www.compusa.com/products/product ... ode=332013

Is the footage you've been working with encoded in DivX or Xvid? That could be the problem right there.

Sweet, with VirtualDub, and something called dubit for audio, the AMV is coming out great. Question though, is there a way to change the sample rate of the AVI's? I'm taking clips from episode 1, and 2 of the anime, and since 2 different people ripped them, the frame rates are different, and therefore I cannot put them together.

I didn't think WMM would even import those file-types. I know it didn't work when I tried it with DivX--granted those were .divx files, not .avi. (Either way, I wound up wasting 3 hours prepping footage, grrrrr).
