Windows Movie Maker help

Postby squirrellord » Mon Jun 26, 2006 6:40 pm

I dunno if this is where it should go, but I was working on a video earlier, and when I tried to save it to the computer (in Windows Movie Maker), it gave me an error saying that there's either not enough freespace, the source isn't there, or my destination doesn't exist.

well, it's only 24megs so far (It's still in production), and I have 12gigs left on the computer. The source is exactly where I left it, on my desktop and hasn't been touched at all. The destination had better exist, considering it's going straight to my desktop.

anyone have any Idea what the problem is? Also, when I watch it in there, about 30 icons for FFDShow Audio Decoder appear on the taskbar of Windows.... I dun even know what that is....

and if anyone's smart idea of help is "Use a better program", I'd like to say in advance.... send me the cash then, I'm broke.

It's WMM... it's prone to random errors like that, especially if you use DivX/XviD footage, though sometimes also when you don't. :?

And as for cash for better software... the majority of people here that use expensive software were in the same boat and figured it out, you can too...

Unless you need ffdshow for decoding certain videos or for using makeAVIS, I'd suggest un-installing it. Or open up ffdshow's configuration (audio and video) and try disabling it's support for all the codecs that you already have installed other programs for (like MP3, Divx, Xvid, MPEG1, MPEG2, etc.).

Ya know, you can tell FFDShow which programs to NOT activate for.

There's a 'Don't Use FFDShow In' function and you can then add in a list of executables. So if you don't want WMM to use FFDShow just figure out what the executable title is and add it to the list.

How broke? There's some good programs in the $100 range. (Though I do understand the sentiment, I can barely justify the expense right now myself--but it'll so be worth it)

Thanks for the help. Once I disabled the Audio Decoder it stopped lagging out (Aparently, it was sucking up all the virtual memory, denying access to WMM... or something).

...and I mean, broke broke lol.

thanks again.... and back to work >.>; (ever get halfway though a video..... and realise you might not have enough footage.......crappers.)
