Why are my people blue in vdub?

Postby burntresistor » Sun Jun 25, 2006 6:13 pm

This has never happened to me before, after I'm done in DGindex and load the file into vdub mod all the characters skins are blue.
This wasnt a problem in DGindex, when I loaded the vob files.
what could it be?

Ok, i checked the project after its done in Dgindex and its fine no blue people. When I load it in vdubmod then they turn blue it could either be my code which I will post or some funky setting in the program i musta clicked, Please help me make the smurfs go away lol

LoadPlugin("C:\Documents and Settings\Dragon fire\Desktop\encode\dgindex\DGDecode.dll")
MPEG2Source("C:\Documents and Settings\Dragon fire\Desktop\encode\VTS_02_1.d2v")
Telecide(order=1)
Decimate(cycle=5, mode=3, threshold=1.0)
LanczosResize(720,576)

Why are you resizing to 720x576?
That is a PAL resolution, though you are using an NTSC ivtc method.
Are you planning to output NTSC footage on a PAL device?

If you omit the telecide, decimate, and resize lines, does the problem persist?

Are you using the version of dgindex that comes with amvapp or another one?

Try using the latest dgindex and dgdecode.dll from here: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=112190

Ok, the update didnt work its still blue with that line of code give above.
This code helps with the interlacing and makes them not blue it is the one audiomatically made by the dgindex

#ASYNTHER Default (AVISource)
AVISource("C:\Documents and Settings\Dragon fire\Desktop\encode\vol1.avs")
Telecide(order=1)
Decimate(cycle=5, mode=3, threshold=1.0)

But, in the end using either code produces a file that lags and I've tried it with wmp, winamp and just loading it into vdub and it lags. This is confusing the hell outta me. Who ever programmed these dvds is evil.

you're not trying to play the large file size .vobs or uncompressed .avi's are you? I thought they would always lag in winamp, vlc etc... since they are such huge files. It's not the lag where you get a black screen with white writing that says something like "b-frame decoder lag"? I believe that's directly related to your audio vbr vs cbr or something.

I don't suppose you could post an image of what the colour shift looks like?

1)I am compressing with lagarith. Some people like huffy, but I seem to do fine with this Since all my videos except one have worked out fine with it.

2)The files I’m encoding off vdub are bigger than usual, for a test one I just did 250mb

3)This all could be a big problem with my own stupidity when I open the avs file In vdub using “open video file” its fine no color issues, but when I open it as “open video file as avisynt. That’s when everyone turns blue.

Finally, I don't know how to link a image. I have it saved as a jpeg.[/img]

'Open file via AviSynth' makes VDub produce its own script and load the video with that. It's not meant to open .avs files. If there aren't any color problems when you use the script with 'Open Video File' (which is the right way to do it), then there you go.
