Free DVD ripping Software?

Postby OhMyBelldandy009 » Fri Nov 08, 2002 10:48 am

Image Did you have tacos for dinner? ^_^

Hey, I need a good software for DVD ripping, and Smartripper and Dup-DVD both hate me! Please, just tell me the best software, or how to use VOB files, or SOMETHING! I swear, I wouldn't bother you if the guides worked for me! Even if the software isn't free, tell me about it, and I will BUY it! Oh yeah, and Can says hi!

Believe it or not SmartRipper is one of the best out there... it might be a little complicated at first impact, but it always gave excellent results to me.

Which problems are you exactly experiencing? Someone here is probably able to help you with that ;)

Check here. Test these out, see if any work better for you. If they all fail then you're stuck either something wrong with the comptuer or your noggin

Now, I have downloaded Smartripper, and I know why I never extracted it before. It wasn't in English. Anyway. I've opened the application, and I have two errors. (1) no ASPI-Adapter available (2) Some files are still locked! I can deal with the locked files, maybe, but I don't know how to fix the ASPI-Adapter problem. Also, I was wondering if you could tell me the name of a good DVD playing software. My Windows Media Player won't play DVDs anymore for some weird reason, and I have no idea what I was using before.

If you have no ASPI available it's probably because you are running under win2000 or XP. Try to find on the net the winaspi.dll and put it in the Smartripper folder: it should work.

I believe there are plenty of tutorials on how to enable ASPI on win2000, but anyways try to look

here (haven't really checked it though)

About the need for unlocking, try to run your software DVD player before opening Smartripper to rip: this should unlock the files.

Good luck ;)

THANKS! And sorry again for the big picture, It was just so cool I couldn't help myself! I know it's too big for people with slower connections though.
