A rather important problem and I need assistance !!

Postby grayplague » Mon Nov 04, 2002 10:13 pm

OK. Here's the problem. For some reason (i obviously dont know why) I am unable to view or edit any of my three most recent videos. And this just started today for no reason!

I have them all stored using DV (only on my comp, no DV tapes :( ) but I just cant open them now. What makes it even more annoying is the fact that my older videos, which are stored in the exact same method, also in DV, still work fine. It just freezes up when i try to view them.

Anyway, here's some of the error messages and odd things I noticed:

in VirtualDubAVS - Image
in VirtualDub - Image
in abcAVI - Image

I'm just hoping that these videos of mine are not corrupted and permanently lost. I dont want to be stuck with XviD and MPEG1 versions only :(

Any and all help on this will be greatly appreciated.

I had this problem with Studio DV a while back but sadly al that worked for fixing it was reencoding the captured footage back in from my camera. Hopefully someone has better advice than that so you don't have to go through the nightmare thatI did. My recomendation is to write down EVERYTHING you did down to the frames you trimmed it to so you can quckly replace everyting if you have to use my method.
