premiere problems

Postby crapmonster » Sun Nov 03, 2002 11:05 pm

im making a vid with premiere 6.0 right now and whenever i get to a certain clip in the timeline when i preveiw it, the program crashes. I've tried downloading patches and using my friends copy of the newer premiere but it doesnt solve anything. Im also not using divx and am using uncompressed footage so that cant be the problem. And i dont think it is the hardware since i just built a new comp that is pretty good. This only started to occur and didnt happen before since the problem arises early on in the timeline. Does anybody know what the problem may be or can help me out with this, or if it is just a common problem that will occur?

Did you download this copy of Premiere, or do you legally have it through some trusted means?

What is the error message?

my friend just let me install using his legit copy since he didnt really use it much and there is no error message. everything just goes black and then usually stays open like that unless i manage to close it or i restart my comp.

Are you using divx footage

Anything other then MJPEG, HuffYUV, AVISynth will probably give you problems.

So you mean the computer hung up during render?

Try removing that 'certain clip', and then re-render the timeline. If it works okay then that 'certain clip' could be faulty, or just 'misplaced'.

Are you using any effects or anything on that clip? Try making a new project file, and stick just that clip on it. Can you export that fine?

ok, i tried that. it works fine and i have no effects on it at all, just the straight file stuck on there so that probably isnt the problem. the only thing i did to the clip was detach the audio and delete that.

If you delete that file from your project will it export? If it does, try deleting that file and then sticking it back on. If that doesnt help, i dunno what to tell you.
