Need to export my first real video

Postby RealDeal X » Thu Oct 03, 2002 6:10 pm

Ok, it only took my about 15 hours of hardwork, but i finally finished my first video. it's not an anime, but it is a music video using footage from a dvd i paid for (sorry about the material search post). i followed ermac's guide and did everything step by step. now i'm done, and i want to export the movie, but its telling me that it will take approx. 2 MONTHS!!!! this can't be right, and if it is, why so long? the whole thing's running time is about 3 minutes 40 seconds. i really worked hard on this and want people to be able to see it. any suggestions?
by the way, my computer is very new, pentium III (if that matters) with a substantial hard drive 25 GB (also, if that matters).

Well man in your case, I woudl slap it into virtualdub and uhh use divx compression. This by far is the easiest way of doing it, since you don't deal with such things as IVTC. If this is your first video, then it's probably a good idea to start with the basics. Once you figure out VirtualDub, then you can add stuff like IVTC using a AVISynth script.

Of course you can also try out TMPEG, just set it up for like a variable bitrate of like 900kbps - 3000kbps and convert ;p

Worry about the other stuff later, unless your video looks really crappy do to interlacing artifacts :\

Klinky, one problem with that idea. He said he's trying to export, and I assume it's estimating 2 months on his first export.

Well he stated he read ErMaC's guide which doesn't cover exporting from Premiere, just he mentioned using HuffYUV to export from there :p

So are you exporting from Premiere or are you trying to use TMPEG or Nandub?

If it's Premiere, then you probably have the damn codec set wrong, to something crappy like Cinepack or Indeo. Get the AMVApp pack at the top and export using huffYUV(takes alot of disk space).

Project|Settings Viewer, Export Settings.

Also:

File|Export Timeline|Movie

Click on the settings button ;p

This is covered in the help, if you just do a search for Export, or Export settings ;)
