Premiere Fixing itself - Anyone know Y?

Postby rhkaloge » Wed Oct 02, 2002 12:20 pm

I had to share this - since we all know how much Premiere seems to try to rip our sanity from our souls, here is a story of the opposite happening...

I was playing with burned DVDs editing directly in Premiere 6 using ErMaCs method. However, I had that problem where the screen was black unless I changed the pixel ratio and expanded the window. Fine. I also had a problem that the video appeared black in the timeline until I rendered the thing, which ment cut clip, drop it in, renderrenderrender, fix it (BTW, the second I even MOVED the clip, it went back to black) render...etc. So this weekend, I moved to a new city (Philly), hooked up my computer, and played around a bit. It took ten minutes, but I finally noticed that I no longer need to render! The clip would drop into the timeline playable instead of black all of a sudden. I have NO if I bumped something in my video card in the move  or what, but it rocked. Cut my editing time in half easy.

Now then, does anyone have ANY idea what happened? Let me tell you that it is entirely possible for me to have installed some plug-in that I forgot about, so speculate away! Could the new release of AVIsynth listed at the top of this forum do this?

Thanks
