Huffyuv problem in Premiere 6.5

Postby Zarxrax » Fri Sep 27, 2002 7:04 pm

Ok, I have recently installed both Premiere 6.5, and the AMV plugin pack thingy. I'm not sure which of them could be causing the problem. Anyways, when I export my video to huffyuv (i tried all 4 of the huffyuvs that the pack installed) on the parts of the video where the video is fully opaque, I get lots of bright, rainbow colors in place of the video. On parts where its got some transparency, it renders just fine. Back when I was on premiere 6.0, and just used the regular huffyuv, I never had this problem. Has anyone else experienced this, and know a way to fix it?

I had problems like that when I tried to export with Huff set to use RGB colorspace.

Try switching to "convert to yuy2" in the Export to Movie--->Video--->Settings dialog.

Nope, its set to YUV mode already. I tried switching it to RGB mode, and when I do that, the the ENTIRE video busts into a static rainbow.

Wait, no, not the entire video. A single frame somewhere around the middle came through... then at the very end where I had applied a video filter, that part came through as well. Really weird O_o

I still can't figure out what the problem could be :( It only happens when exporting from premiere, I can save huffyuvs fine in vdub. Any help?

I've had this problem as well. There is actually no difference between the "normal" version of huffyuv and the one in the amv pack except the registry settings. The codec is the same.

The rainbow image is an annoying bug, and I'm not sure what causes it (although it seems to be dependant somewhat on resolution). My advice is to just export as uncompressed RGB and then compress that externally.
