So how's Meida Player 9 Beta?

Postby Bushido Philosopher » Mon Sep 16, 2002 9:10 am

Since Media Player 9 Beta version is out, I was wondering if anyone was trying it as of now.

How is it? Good? Bad? Glitch monster?

I forgot that I upgraded it a little while back to see the halo preview, but I found a Quicktime version elsewhere. Looking at it, I like it alot better then WMP 7/8. You can manually resize the window easily

I still prefer the version of Windows Media Player Classic I got off of doom9.

Is there something wrong with Media Player 7??

Everyone says it sucks but I haven't seen anything bad on my computer...

Ironically enough I'm still happy with 2.0 don't know why, I just am. But I have a friend who just got nine and his having plenty of trouble with it. It won't display things in english (everything is in japanese for God knows what reason) but it also doesn't display video data. He's still messing with it but based on his experience I wouldn't recomend nine.

nothing bad about 7.0....it just doesn't reize correctly for mpeg's i believe....I never noticed....but some ppl can and ae bothered by it as it isn't a "correct" representation.....i personally don't care...but some do.

I actually like 7 better since it allows me to sort my AMV's in playlists. 6.4 does nothing but playback files individually. I like having it run on it's own and playing vids while I'm doing other things. =P

Create a .M3U textfile with a list of videos to play on WMP6.4. GUIs are for wimps! :)

m3u file is just a WinAmp playlist file.

Basically a text file with paths\filename for your videos, one per line

Like so :

Code: Select all
C:\SexyPr0n\hotasian01.avi
C:\MJ-Secrets\bombplot.mpeg
C:\gay-pr0n\MJ+gay man at AX.avi

:D :D :D

Then you'd just like drag and drop it in to WMP or associate it with WMP, then double click on it.
