premiere destroys lipsync!

Postby asako » Mon Sep 09, 2002 3:29 am

asako every guide read and now he's sooo unhappy.
Image

asako's problem is that he wants to make a real good lip sync, but jumping in the audio track, rendering previews or even playing causes ugly adobe premiere 6.0 to violate the audio track by randomly stretching or shorting passages.
restarting premiere doesn't change, the audio just bounces at other times then before.
the mpeg, asako uses, is fine quality and playing it normally never caused any problems, that it didn't!

why does nasty adobe do this to poor asako!?

anybody else had similar problems? asako wants to know.

Asko has this problem because he

1. Is a noob
2. Doesn't have the right drivers for something.
3. Warezed Premiere.

I'm leaning towards 3

A warezed copy of Premiere is most likely not going to cause this..

Are you using mp3 audio or wave audio?
Do you have any effects added to the audio track?
How fast is your computer?
and yes, do you have the lastest drivers for your hardware?

Also grabbing the 6.02 update from Adobe.com may not be a bad idea.

3 would be a good bet.

Okay, just read that you're using a mpeg clip. That's not really a good idea.

Are you using the audio track from the MPEG or a separate audio file?

:\

Your best bet would be to try it with a huffYUV clip and WAVE audio :\

Yes the problem is likely because you are editing in MPEG. You DONT edit using inter-frame codecs, you need to use something like huffyuv.

Ugh... PLEASE stop referring to yourself in third-person. It may be cute for some little kids in anime, but in real life it's just moronic and incredibly annoying.

MPEG-1 is not frame-accurate when editing in Premiere, meaning you won't always get exactly what you think you're seeing. Huffyuv, as has been suggested, is frame-accurate.

Also, your signature image is too large. The board's rules (which are very visible on the site's front page) state clearly that any signature images may be no more than 40 pixels tall. So don't be surprised if a friendly Moderator removes it for you, if you don't remove it yourself. ;-)

I don't want to give away dumb suggestions, but are you sure that when you cut your clips in the timeline the audio doesn't get cut too? :P

Try to lock the audio track so you can't touch it (and use WAVS, yes :P)
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

asako thanks dear jbone for the hint and he will do so (byebye, teddy-family...).

one more question asako has: what is real life and where in this place one can find it? ;)

Real life? That has no place here my friend, it is merely theoretical.

The difference between theory and real life is that in theory, there is no difference between theory and real life, but in real life, there is.

You guys don't know shit, so I suggest you stop making assumptions. I had a similar problem and I have a LEGIT copy of premiere. It's because he's using mp2 audio or some other compressed format. It's best to use uncompressed WAV audio.
