MediaPlayer might be more revealing as to the problem, provided it doesnt crash.

What's your OS and do any of the amvapp tests work? If not what errors?

Using Meri's computer. Windows ME. First test, when Media Player opens, I get the same Runtime error. Exact same error, except it points to the location of Media Player instead of VDub (obviously).

Ugh ME...

I've not had anyone test ME but I do have a theory...

Deleted (well, moved) the plugin, and it loaded the AVS script fine and dandy. That's just with the MPEG2Source.

Since you had some Utena stuff in the beta guide, I'm testing out the AMVapp beta with Utena footage, as well. I'm trying to load up the script with what you've got on this page (with our own location of the D2V file, of course), and I get this error upon trying to open the script:

<B>AVIsynth open failure:
Evaluate: Unrecognized exception!
(vdubv, line 83)
C:\Meri\VideoCapture\utena\ep_01.avs, line 7)</B>

So we're getting there! The help is appreciated ^^;;

can you comment out each line using a # from the end to the beginning until it works and then leave that line out and try the rest?

Actually trythil mentioned something about memory issues with ssxsharpen.

I'm wondering if it has processor limitations...

Yep, going down and uncommenting the list, it was ssxsharpen that kills it. Everything else, including the color and tweak after it, works fine.

BTW I've no idea if that's the best IVTC setupd for utena - I didn't check that very thoroughly, so you might want to mess around with that.

For that particular volume of utena, however, the colour tweak is definitely right. THe smoothing and sharpening are to taste I suppose :)

I'm not prepared to do so just yet. ^^;; ME hasn't given me any *major* problems in ages, so I don't mind keeping it around. Mike on the other hand... yikes. Time to lose the old-ass computer and Windows 98. :P
