A Real premiere question (Not in the manual, I promise.)

Postby EBwiz » Tue Jul 02, 2002 12:47 pm

Alright, I'm having a problem putting BIG videos in, as in, 100 - 250 MB videos (full movies.), Abode keeps crashing... Is there a way to fix this or at least, a way to splice the movie into smaller clips and put them in seperately?

Size doesn't matter, it's what you do with it.

No, seriously I've put in avis that are Gigabytes in size. That isn't the problem.

It doesnt like the encoding of the videos. Try not using divx with variable bitrate audio next time ;p

To "strip off" the divx encoding get virtualdub and save it in a friendlier codec or uncompressed. Be warned, this will cause really huge files. You might want to just save the parts you need to use as seperate un-divxed clips.

Actually I'm using AngelPotion compressor now. Works just as good as DivX (Even plays DivX movies) but works on Abode, I already tested some AP Videos I made on Premiere and they work fine. Thanks for the help, I'll be going to get Virtual Dub right now. (Yay! I can finally make videos again!)

I actually had a problem like that sometime ago with a hellsing dvd ep. Premiere actually played the video if i didn't play the sound (mute), thus I coul edit it with no problem what so ever

I always try that before doing something more complicated :PP

Go figure why a newbie like myself replies to posts he doesn't understand OLlolo

Just to clear it up here:

DivX 3.11 = hacked MS MPEG4

Angel Potion = poorly hacked DivX3.11
