Postby paladine » Tue Jul 02, 2002 8:40 am

I'm using DVD2 AVI to convert my VOBS on my PC.

Unfortunately all the video footage comes out interlaced. i didn't notice any interlace options in amy of the dropdown menus.

What am i doing wrong???

Please help.

Thanks =)

that's because the originals are interlaced.

Read ErMaCs guide on how to deal with interlacing.

Much animation is 23.976fps. If you set DVD2AVI to "force FILM," then you *may* end up with non-interlaced source, but then you'll want to set Premiere to edit with a timebase of 24fps and export your project at 23.98fps.

Or, alternatively, you may want to create your DVD2AVI project @ 29.97 and then inverse telecine in the AVS script directly (but be warned: this is SLOW) using the Decomb or InverseTelecine plugins.

Or you may edit your video @ 29.97 and IVTC the final product (you have to be careful to keep the audio in synch though).

Definitively read ErMaC's guide to know a little bit more about this topic.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.
