Digital Effects

Postby -M_X_R- » Mon Aug 26, 2002 9:37 pm

I was wondering if there is a website on how to create digital effects using programs like Adobe After Effects and Dimensions, and if anyone could tell me what program should I use to make the best digital effects in an AMV?

There is an excellent guide to using all the After Effects built-in effects - it's called the manual.
"If someone feels the need to 'express' himself or herself with a huge graphical 'singature' that has nothing to do with anything, that person should reevaluate his or her reasons for needing said form of expression, possibly with the help of a licensed mental health practitioner."

Yeah. The program is called "creativity", and it's usually in your brain.

Also, there's a guide out there called "Search Engine". You may want to try it sometime. ^_^

Well there isn't a digital effect called "Digital Effects".

That's a genereal purpose statement. You need to have a idea on what you want to make. You can ahead and just randomly play with things in after effects and see what happens. The hardest part I find in using effects is finding a good way to execute them. You need to have a idea about what you want to do and how you want the finished product to look. Just saying "something that looks cool" isn't enough you need to be pretty precise in what you wish for. Then someone could probably help you out more.

Dude you posted a bad question, plain and simple. It was a bad question!

What do you want to do with the effect? What kinda effect are you looking for? Basic effects are covered in the manual. Using those basic effects you can combine them to make something neater and l33ter. If you get stuck along the way, you can ask for some help. But there are pretty much thousands combinations that a effect could be made from.

We can't possibly write two or three sentances and you can then go off and make the raddest video ever. Alot of video editing takes time READING THE MANUAL. It's not a simple one, two, three go kind of hobby.
