tmpgenc encoding help with premier 6.0

Postby timbitdude » Mon Jul 01, 2002 6:26 pm

im curently encoding my captures with:
MPEG-1 352x240 29.97fps CBR 56kbps, Layer-2 44100Hz 192kbps
and sometimes, at random parts of my show in premier after i encode it, the volume drops out for long times then comes back for a second then drops out again, i press play then the time index moves but there is no visual movement and no audio then it sudenly kicks in and if add a part of the show that is like that it is VERY chopy.

thanks for the help

Are you sure you're encoding at 56kbps? cause that's disgustingly low. you realize you're giving more bits to your audio than to your video!

 ah so it would be better to go at a higher birite (saying the obvouse)

i would of replyed sooner but i just got back from vacation :D

when i capture there are still several frames droped but i dont think thats the problem because when i compress something that i downloaded i get the same chopyness. ill try with a higher birite. what would u sugest? or should i just change every thing?

take a bitrate between 1000 and 2000 kbps, VBR, that's a good rate for mpeg1.
you could also encode your captures with virtualdub or nandub to divx, that has generally better quality, but you have to reencode them to huffyuv to edit in premiere.
