I wonder if you could help me....

I have converted my AMV to Mpeg with Abode Premiere and copied them to CD.

When I try to watch them (to make sure I can put them to net) they work all right for about 30sec then picture is obscured by black stripes, picture slows down and finally the whole thing crashes and announces error 8000FFFF.

Has anyone else had similiar problems and how did you deal with them?
Most likely the problem is in Premiere but i'd rather know what to fix than convert them again and run to same problem.

Thanks in advance.....

Try re-encoding it.

Don't use Premiere to make mpegs... use TMpeg Encoder. Refer to ErMaC's guide on this same site to know how to set it up ;)

I will try...

I thought that it was probably some glitch in premiere that caused it. But since I downloaded TMPG I might as well try it (since at least the machine I use takes a hell of a lot time to compress avi to Mpeg) and see how it turns out.........

Thanks for help.

I've had this kind of problem and it's generally one of three things.

One: The encoding is poor and the entire video needs to be re-encoded in order to fix it. Check the codecs, you might have encoded the video into a codec you cannot view properly on your hard drive.

Two: Drive speed, a slow drive can cause videos to do this and then crash the system with ease, unfortunately the only way to fix this problem is to get a faster drive.

Three: Hard drive space, if it's small it distorts videos and can sometimes cause them to stall and then crash, just clear more space or get a bigger hard drive if this is the problem.

I'm quite sure the reason was number 1. TMPG is converting them to MPEG now and in the morning I will see what happens.
