Bah... To me hardware is allready too expensive enough.
Despite the legality issues, pirated software is mostly used by people with common sense, but no money. Sharing programs like P2P networks is what actually has gotten clueless n00bs so much softs that they would have probably been completely unable to download (if even find?) at all a few years back.
Personally, I don't care whenever something that runs on my computer is legit or not. After all, it's for my own private/personal use. If I were actually running actually a small studio either for commercial or non-commercial public distribution of original material then legit software and proper licensing would be a most.
However, as long as I consider myself to be on an evalution/training phase then burning off cash in a unique platform is pointless. After all, fan-made Anime Music Vids could only carry original concepts, but footage/soundtracks are all copyrighted by firms. Therefore there really shouldn't be any controversy because pirated software is used to re-edit non-original propietary materials.
However if you were producing your own footage/soundtracks then using pirated software could lead to potential problems, especially if it's a joint group project. Even more so if you are confronted by any particular company or representavie that discovers you are using their software without being on their costumer database(Which is sometimes a licensing scheme requirement, more or less you would be FUCKED).
And so on and so forth...
*BTW, people that had to pay for chunks of silver will allways resent the ones who got free gold nuggets for looking the other way*
