Best way to rip a Wii Game?

Post by blaku92 » Mon Feb 11, 2008 2:15 pm

I'm thinking about making a short amv with Twilight Princess, but I don't really know the best way to capture/rip all of the cut scenes from a Wii game... can anyone help me? Any suggestions are welcome.

I think you need a video capture card, and then you capture the video as you play through the game. Its a long and tedious process.

yeah, i thought that might be the best way for me since I'm not a super pirate w/ all the burning/ripping gear. I was going to just record it to DV with my camcorder through a composite A/V input cord, but I didn't really want to do that because DV is teh stupid. What I don't know is, if I get the right capture card, will I be able to capture footage in something like lagarith?

hardware doesn't really matter - you can use something like virtual dub which should be able to detect and use most capture devices and just use that to record with lagarith.

If your looking for a capture card i would recommend choosing one of the winfast models.

I recommend the winfast 2000 Expert edition. It only costs about $0.99 (used) on ebay (rrp$49.95 New) but its definetly worth it. I've tried more then 30 capture cards ranging from $10 to $500 and i must say even though this card is dirt cheap, its definetly one of the best quality capture cards out there.

The quality of this capture card can beat most (over 98%) of the expensive capture cards on the market today.

So yeah basically what im saying is that if you need to capture scenes from your wii, dvd player, PS3, PS2 etc in the highest possible quality go and get this, you wont regret it.
