after doing some extensive research on SSD performance, i DO NOT RECOMMEND an SSD at ALL.
at least not yet, and if you do shell out for one, you NEED to buy the higher end ones.
sadly, in the current SSD market, about 60% of all the SSDs out there are UTTER crap. I don't have time to explain but this 20 page article will explain in GREAT detail, down to the transitior and controller details of an ssd.

- IN short, SSDs are GREAT at READING data and sequential writing. but thats all, if you wanna know more, check the link.

i would give SSDs some more time to mature and get better R&D.
right now, only the Intel x25-e or OCZ vertex are 'kinda' worth it.
there are too many fundamental problems with SSDs that are not yet figured out.
---
If you anyone here has an SSD, look into ssd performance degradation and random write speeds.

Re: The Best Hard Drives...
ofc there was some exceptions.
Intel X25-e
and OCZ Vertex
are 'okay' and don't suffer from terribad degradation or random write speeds, but still not perfect tech.

Wow... After reading all that about the SSDs I'm glad I just went with buying an Internal harddrive with a external case.
