I read the guide, but I have a question!

Okay. The guide confused me. It said that if you have DVDs, you do not need a video capture card. However I couldn't find any place where it says how you capture images off said DVDs. I really want to try making an AMV, but I can't figure this out, I'm stuck. Can anybody help out a noob?

Thank you so much!

Thank you. I read this through and tried finding the programs they mentioned...neither of which are currently available for download. Which is just spiffy.
