That is exactly what you want to use. Many of us refer to it as EADFAG (or in a jokingly manner say Read
ErMaC & AbsoluteDestiny's Friendly AMV Guides, meaning Read Ermac & Absolute Destinies Friendly Anime Guide) and it is pretty much the "bible" for encoding/decoding of most types of footage.
However, when you go to that link, you might get intimidated how much actual reading your going to have to do. Now, above all things, I
highly suggest that you read everything in that guide so that you have a much better understanding than the following can bring you.
