Many problems

Postby [Mike of the Desert] » Thu Jun 23, 2005 6:13 pm

I have some questions because I'm blind of what is happening..

First of all, many video files (especially episodes) are un-renables because my pc say that another program is using them, but it is not true..

And.. The more I use the pc in one row, the more anything goes BADLY and SLOWLY.. But I have more than 1GB of RAM and.. I don't understand. Please.. Help !

You have to do the following every month at least, every two weeks is better:

- Scan your computer for Spyware and bad cookies using the personal versions of Ad-Aware or Spybot, which are free to use and update all the time. (They work just like antivirus programs, but find and root out cookies that slow down your computer)

- Scan your computer for viruses using an anti-virus (just like the above, you can find some free personal-version antivirus software on the net, but a commercial antivirus checker is better).

- Defragment your computer's hard drive. Basically, as you use your hard drive, the material the data is written to heats up and expands, causing some of the physical media to fragment. The longer you use your drive, the more fragmented it becomes, and the more you need to use Disk Defragmenter.

The three above should be a routine you should run periodically to keep your hard drive (and computer) in top shape.

Hope this helps you out. :)

GO to start>run>type "msconfig" . Click on the startup tab. Untick all the boxes, click ok and restart.

See if that helps.
