infernal0321, what you are asking are two questions in one - to me:
...
I see that people have been asking about capture cards ...
... I don't even know what type will
do this ...
... a decent resolution
( 512 X 384 ) ... <a href="http://www.streamload.com/merlins_magic/K-of-H commercail.avi">like this encode</a> without pixelized pictures
( which this has ~_~ ) ...
...
the video can
be import
ed as Mpeg ...
... is compatable with windows movie maker, for around $100·°° ...
...
soo, what's considered your average price for video capture
like "that" these days?
Answer: almost any capture card can do what your asking, even an ATI Radion 7200
and
aznfs is exactly correct ... a Large Hard Drive Space is required
anytime your are Capturing Video.
the file I encoded, <a href="http://www.streamload.com/merlins_magic/K-of-H commercail.avi">which is this encode</a>, was a 60 meg Capture in MPEG-2 and became
a 6 meg AVI "with the wrong bit-rate settings" after only 3 minutes of prep-time.
soo, the question that you must ask yourself is; how much time and Hard Drive
space do "I" need for what I'm about to do
and is my computer new enough
to do the job!??
for 24 minutes of "capture time" your computer will need:
1.677 gig of hard drive space for Nvidia MPEG-2 capturing at 512 X 384
.977 gig of hard drive space for ATI MPEG-2 capturing at 512 X 384
2.334 gig of hard drive space for Panisonic 1080i MPEG-2 capturing at 512 X 384
and these are just the average capture file sizes - not the cleanest and clearest settings have been used!!!
--- for that to happen, basically double the capture sizes.
... a good capture card -vs- Windows Movie Maker ... ... ... hmmm
