im having a realy anoying problem with my dvd drive. a freind burnt me a dvd about a week ago (just a data disk with some videos) . when i got home, poped it in my hard disk and it started going wierd. the disk would spin up, then slow down, and go back faster again and just keep looping. i cant access it in any way. about 10-15 seconds afte ri put the disk in my pc locks up and the only way to get it working again is to take out the disk, and then everything goes back to normal. this happens with two data dvd's that freinds have burnt for me. both disks are the same brand (well, they're no-name. the face is just blank. raed side is a light purple, if that means anything) . the problem however is just happening with me, as 3 freinds have tried both disks ontheir drives and they both worked fine for them.anyway, a freind gave me a dvd (another data disk, with just one video on it) yesterday and strangely enough it worked fine. this disk was different however. it was an "integrity diamond" disk. or thats what writen on it. its just a standard dvd5 like the others. this one however i know is a DVD+R . so that got me thinking. could the other disks be -R and would my drive be able to only read +R dvd's ? or is the problem something els ? i tried installing forceaspi , still the same problem with the other disks.
anyone got any idea ? i would realy like to get the stuff in these dvd's out of them, as in, i wana use the damn thing.
thanks in advance. (oh and, forgot to mention this. drive is a liteon 16x dvd drive, and im running winxp pro with sp1, if thats any help).
