why not just use her computer
or u could rip the vobs then convert them to avi. and besides i dont think the vid card has anything to do with ripping dvd's
I have been using her computer but it starts to become a problem if she is in the middle of something and I need to her to convert something, espcially if she is already doing her own. Then if she isn't using it, my son is playing on it.
The systems are just about exactly alike, with the exception of the Video Cards is the only thing that I can figure on why it wouldn't convert. I started from scratch doing the exact same thing she does and everything works on hers, but not mine. All the files are in the correct places that match the paths on the .avs, etc files I'm using. Here are the specs and what we've been doing, maybe there is something I'm missing but so far the only differences I've seen is our Video Card.
Her System:
Pentium 4 2.8 GHz
ATI 9800 Pro 128 MB RAM
1 GB Mushkin 2-2-2 DDR3200
GigaByte GA-8IK1100 Motherboard
My System:
Pentium 4 2.8 GHz
ATI AIW 9800 Pro 128 MB RAM
1 GB Mushkin 2-2-2 DDR3200
GigaByte GA-8KNXP Motherboard
Using Software:
Windows XP Professional
Adobe Premiere
DVD Encrypter
DVD2AVI
DVD to AVI Directions:
1) Open DVD Decrypter
2) Select footage and choose Decrypt
3) Open DVD2AVI program
4) Open VOB file
5) Make sure these settings are correct:
Colour Space - YUV
YUV -> RGB - PC Scale
6) Select "Save Project"
7) Save it as a d2v file (should be default)
8) Create a notepad file and put the follow text into it:
SetMemoryMax(10)
LoadPlugin("C:\Program Files\AMVapp\avi filters\MPEG2Dec3.dll")
LoadPlugin("C:\Program Files\AMVapp\avi filters\Decomb.dll")
MPEG2Source("path to the d2v file you just made")
Last line should look something like this:
MPEG2Source("C:\SAIYUKI_6\VIDEO_TS\ending.d2v")
9) Name the file the same as the d2v file, just change the extension to .avs
10) Open Premiere, then open the .avs file in Premiere.
11) Export the .avs file into a .avi file using Premiere and you're gtg!
