I've already downloaded XP Service Pack 1 and edited the Windows registry, but my computer still won't recognize more than 128 GB on my 250 GB hard drive. According to the folks at Western Digital (even though my HD is a Maxtor), the only other requirement for breaking the 128-GB barrier is that my BIOS needs to be 48-bit LBA-compatible. But shouldn't all mobos made after a certain date have this ability?
I'm confused. And on top of it all, my computer reboots itself for no reason every few hours (and no, it's not Remote Procedure Call - I fixed that. This one gives no warning at all, it's like it just cuts power to the system).
