Digital to Analog via USB

Postby Toxie_punk » Sun Mar 07, 2004 6:18 pm

Ok this post is half a rant because I'm dead tired and feeling like I've been cursed today. Does anyone know of any video editing software aside from Dazzle that will let me transfer digital video onto VHS through a USB port connection. I just bought a new $800 P4 comp and when I got it home I realized the pinnacle PCI board is too wide to fit in the tower. Also, because I was going to try burning it to VCD and recording it from the DVD player to the VCR, I went to load the pinnacle software and I find the disc UNDER my Tony Hawk Underground disc has two giant cracks through it. But don't worry, the tony hawk disc above it is fine. How? I don't know. anyway back to the subject. If anyone could suggest me some USB digital to analog hardware/software I'd really appreciate it.

If you have a fancy you P4 then you might also have a fancy graphics card that has an rca out on it. (or DV in which case it'll have an adapter.)

Run the rca out to the input, and get a stereo to RCA adapter/splitter and run the sound from your video card to the Left/Right channels for sound.

A geforce card runs anywhere from 40.oo to 400.oo for one that has a leaf blower attachement and renders your games so fast their over before you can even put the CD in.

Also, you said your tower was too wide right? Can't you just leave the side panel off while you do what you need?

I use an ADS Instant DVD 2.0. It's worked pretty well for me.

No, I checked the back, no RCA out. And I said the PCI card was too wide, the tower is thin. I thought about leaving the tower open but oh mined papa helped me pay for the new comp and he said thats probly not the smartest idea. Plus even if I did that the input for the firewire connection still might be blocked by the edge of the tower. I can't really tell right now cause to open it you have to take the stand off, but I might give it a shot later. And Narcted, I'll look more into that product. Thanks for the suggestions.
