im most likely going to have to replace the card that connects the monitor plug as well since the video card connects to it also(im guessing thats the network card: correct me if im wrong). does it matter what type it is for that or can i use any one as well?? any ways you've all been very helpful unlike that computer guy who was supposed to call back. hmmm. it seems ive found more answers here though. thanks for helping me get to the bottom of this situation

yes but thier not forwards compatible. a 8x card will fry on a 4x agp
