Crap DVD ripping problem

Postby Paul Kievits » Wed Dec 03, 2003 3:18 pm

I'm having a problem ripping a DVD and I thought one of you might be able to help...

The thing is evertime I rip one particular VOB (1 out of 6 the other 5 are no problem) the ripper (smartripper and DVD Decrypter) stops at 31% and keeps on retrying (without succes). I can watch the DVD in a stand-alone DVD player and even with the same DVD drive in the PC which is giving the ripping problems.

Any ideas anyone?

Does the chapter work perfectly fine when being played? That may be a problem. If the disc is scratched then that could affect it also. If it's a popular DVD and it still won't rip, I'd suggest renting it or borrowing another copy for a friend. Otherwise I'm not quite sure.

There are absolutely no playback problems whatsoever, even when I use the same DVD-R that is used when I try ripping the DVD... I'm going to try using another PC to rip the DVD but if that doesn't work I'm pretty much out of ideas (because the DVD I have isn't really available for rent here)
