Oh the pain, the pain! How could you even think of buying a pc-chips?

Anyway go with the nforce 2 for sure, they are great boards. I would look on newegg for a nforce 2 Asus board, my favorite brand. Just read the user reviews and find a board that suits your needs. Just stay away from pc-chips and ECS, they are so totally evil that they would take over the world, if they could keep from burning up first.

Are you sure everythin is configed correctly in the BIOS? Your Front Side Bus could be set wrong.

OMGWTF

Companies put AGP on the board even when theres onboard video, because some people, IE GAMERS don't like the crappy onboard video, an example of onboard video is a Geforce 2 MX chip onboard, and games such as Half-Life 2 and Doom 3 will run at 1fps with that card

yea im sure its all set right. the board had a problem with the hard drive right when i put it in so then i set it up in the bios and it still didnt like it so i formated the hard drive in my hp(curent comp) and then saw if the hp would recognize it and it did so the hard drive is fine so im asuming the board is bad. anyway i talked to newegg and im getting a refund and im gone prolly order the Asus A7N8X coz i hear its a good board

actualy, with doom3 even if you have a radeon9800pro , an athlon62 and 4gigs of ddr533 ram, then you;d still probaly strugle to push doom3 above 1fps

Yoou certainly are misinformed. If you are talking about the leaked version of the game that was about a half a year ago, that was obviously unoptimized and hence the shitty performance.

Carmack has even tested the game on stuff like a Geforce3 and it works just fine. Do you seriously think id software (debateably the best game programmers in the entire world) wouldn't know how to make a game play better than 1 fps on the best computer system available. They're obviously making the game so that just about anyone with a decent computer can play it.

Anything else would be a retarded business venture and I seriously doubt id is that stupid.

No, actually, when I played the alpha leak of D3, I got 1 fps with my old Geforce 2 MX card, so I'd get around 25fps with the retail (optmized) version, at least

There were leaked copies earlier this year. Again...UNOPTIMIZED.
