Mac and DivX

Postby Sasaki » Sat May 31, 2003 5:46 pm

 Hello! Just like about 15% of the computer litterate population, I'm a mac user. See, I've been having problems with DivX encoding. I installed all the components and codecs, problem is, the audio is occasionally chopped up and sounds like crap. :? Does anyone know a solution to this audio problem?

What player are you using?

Have you tried MPlayer?

Don't use DivxDoctor or DivxValidator because they can make your files unusable on other systems. Use Mplayer; it fixed most of my playback problems and ensures that the files you have can be used elsewhere. If you want to export individual tracks ie: QT Pro, export the video track normally (QT Pro Player) and use ffmpeg or ffmpegx (gui) to extract the audio.

What are you using to encode in DivX?
if your using some kind of quicktime component stuff to encode in DivX good luck with that shit. Quicktime and DivX don't get along.
If I were you I think I would use DivXRAY (I think that might be the name of it) for encoding
As for playing the best optioin is VideoLAN available at VideoLAN.org
