for the 5th time (i think) I've been using the codecs that have been told to me. The program just doesn't let it get loaded in. I'm probably going to try uninstalling it and see if reinstalling helps. If not then I'll continue using eazy VCD and find a method to fix the boxes.Kariudo wrote:you're in virtualdub(/mod) right?
when you find a clip that you want, you go to file-save as.
unless you are saving the footage as uncompressed you are using a codec to encode your footage.
if that codec is divx or xvid, your avi files won't work in your editing program.
you should use a lossless codec like Lagairth or HuffYuv (get the pre-built dll, and be sure to read the page so you know how to install it)
this tells you how to make clips in virtualdubmod, please read through this thoroughly (for what that last page didn't cover, this one should)

if you were using one of the codecs then you souldn't be having problems with importing the files into premiere elements
to confirm which codec the clips are encoded with go to the clip, right click and click properties.
hit the summary tab and click on advanced. it'l give you some infromation about the clip including what codec it's encoded with.
if it doesn't show you that info, you can use a program like Gspot to get that info

Well they aren't uncompressed anymore. I calculated the amount of space needed for teh full season of Gungrave. I came up only a tad bit short. I'm going to check both your guys methods and see if it changes anything.Willen wrote:If the AVI files are actually Uncompressed RGB, Premiere Elements should definitely take them. The only possible reason I can come up with for PE not importing AVIs is that the video clips may have to be in RGB32 colorspace.
Thanks for your assistance by the way, very nice of you.

Just can't seem to find the reason it won't work. The last thing I'm going to try is uninstall Preimere Elements and reinstall it. See if it affects anything. Otherwise I'm not sure what options I consider. I like making AMV's, but I don't dedicate my life to it.topgamer101 wrote:Well it's in Lagarith (however you spell it) codec. I did both of them and it wouldn't load. Again it's not that the program refuses to load it, it just gets to the part where it tries to load it and the bar never moves.
I'll look into the color thing next and see what I find.
Thanks for everyone that tried to help.

They play in WMP, however Movei makers I haven't tried. I've had wierd things happen with Movie Maker ever since I started using Elements though, I can never export anything in Movie MakerWillen wrote:Will the AVI files play back in Windows Media Player? And do they load into Windows Movie Maker?
If both of those programs accept the files then re-installing Premiere is the only other thing I can suggest, if you haven't already re-installed it.

Anotehr thing, in decrypter I only rip the main movie files. Does that have anything to do with me unable to load it? I can't imagine the other files are needed for this...topgamer101 wrote:They play in WMP, however Movei makers I haven't tried.
