Adobe'in Layers! Top-timeline layer, Bad!

Ok, now im on my third music video... and I would like to learn how to actually get my amv to look somewhat decent say; 15 mb.

hehe, my 3 mb first video looks kinda crappy, and my 2nd isn't too good too, hehe.

I've been playing with adobe and codec'in **got 30 mini .avis on my desktop :(**

Anyway -- How do I layer an image over just the portion of the video; i don't want to block everything out. Does this take Aftereffect, if so; how do I do it?
DVDs 29.99 each
High-End computer: 3300$
Adobe Software: 1300$
Being able to butcher my dvds and tape random clips and hope for the best: Priceless

What you want to do is easier going to require mattes or the transformation(or motion settings {blech}) effect under perspective.

Also as for how to compress your videos, read the guides. Specifically the last couple sections(reading it all is a good idea as well).
