Virtualdubmod has silent playback.

Postby GForce4 » Thu Jun 19, 2008 12:37 am

I ran a search on the forum and couldn't find anyone experiencing this problem so I made a new thread.

I just downloaded AMVamp ver 3.0 beta onto my computer and aside from the failed test, the programs work well except for Virtualdubmod which plays me silent clips on playback. I made sure to add the audio streams and check my sound levels but for some reasons I hear nothing when I hit play.

What makes this problem even stranger is when I do save the files as avi's it is only then I can hear the video's audio. I really do not want to have to go as far as to convert my files to avis before I know if the audio is in good shape so please tell me how to fix it. If you need more information then ask so and I'll gladly reply.

Well, as far as I know, VirtualDubMod does not have an integrated audio preview. If you absolutely need to check your audio for some reason, just quickly save it as a .wav (streams > stream list > save WAV). It's just a matter of seconds.

I must have the same powers because I get audio anytime I have an audio stream. <_>
I'll have a look at my settings later and see if I can find a way to turn it on and off. I'm at work right now.
