yeah vorbis is Xiph's opensource audio codec which is meant to be used in the ogg container. Ogg's current implementation is just like a big empty box though, you can put anything in it as long as you have/write a dshow filter for it :\
Originally it was intended for vorbis yes but it's more functional than that and actually Tobias who wrote the dshow filters just joined Xiph and his implementation became an official part of the project.

AVI IS NOT A COMPRESSION FORMAT >_<
OK, IT'S NOT!
"I USE AVI" Doesn't tell us anything about what you're doing.
You need to say something like "I export using huffYUV to a AVI File, with uncompressed WAVE audio."
Then it makes more sense. There is no such thing as just "AVI". You SHOULD have atleast one video stream and one audio stream in your AVI file by the time it's exported for distro. You need explain what those are.
Saying "AVI" leaves everything up in the air....

Haven't you learned by now that you're not supposed to export your finished video from Premiere?the Black Monarch wrote:I use AVI for the pure and simple reason that Premiere doesn't export as MPEGs
"If someone feels the need to 'express' himself or herself with a huge graphical 'singature' that has nothing to do with anything, that person should reevaluate his or her reasons for needing said form of expression, possibly with the help of a licensed mental health practitioner."

Yeah, BM. Don't export your video!jbone wrote:Haven't you learned by now that you're not supposed to export your finished video from Premiere?the Black Monarch wrote:I use AVI for the pure and simple reason that Premiere doesn't export as MPEGs
Actually, do, but the preferred method is to export in the highest quality format you have space for, like uncompressed, or HuffYUV, or what have you, and then do your final encoding with a more specialized program like Vdub (.avi formats) or Tsunami mpeg encoder (mpeg formats). That gives you more control over any filtering, sizes, formats, blah blah.
