okay i use windows media player to view amvs and I've been noticing an increasing trend to have them in MP4 format and I've found a player for that But I want all my videos on one player so does anyone know where to find a codec download so these files will work on Windows media player?

CCCP allows you to play pretty much everything (at the very least, I haven't found something it couldn't handle)
it also installs media player classic

not wmp, but it'l play all your videos

It's more of a "if you refuse to leave an inferior player like WMP you're beyond help" silence.

What exactly is so inferior about it? It's the only player I know of that can batch play, and that's really nice when you're enjoying your favorite amv's.

Are you talking about play lists? What media player doesn't have play lists?

CCCP installs ffdshow, right? So WMP will play your mp4s and some other new file formats.

But I want all my videos on one player

Than you´ll better use a different player such as the KMPlayer.

What I mean is the ability to click-n-drag and select multiple files, select Play, and sit back and watch the entire list.

And, again, I ask... what player doesn't do that?

Ya I have KMP and It annoys me. cause its either on top of everything or closed. so If I need a fast action silence! I have to open it again. and every time a new video starts it goes POP! i'm back on top!. which is REALLY annoying when your doing something like WoW or school work or watching something else.. or anything. WMP sits and does its thing in the back ground. till I'm good and ready to bring it to the top and watch an amv that i like instead of just listening to the music that i like.

It is a failure from the prgorammers to keep this setting as default, but you can change it! Like a lot of things.

Right Click -> Screen Controls On Top -> Never

That´s it. Just a bit effort.

Great!... now what about when i minimize it and it disappears and I have to go looking for it amongst all the other things int he bottom right of my window
or when I full size (not full screen just make the window fas big as it can go) the playlist disappears as well Or the player resizing at each video. all things i have to search threw a huge list of stuff i'll never use or understand. just to get it the way I have WMP and the way i like it. when i COULD just have someone say go to (insert workign link) and DL the codec for MP4's and be done with it... really alot more hassel then its worth.

So please SOMEONE! point me in the direction of a website that I can get the codec!

Nothing will be serve in real life the things you want on a silver plate. You want it (KMPlayer) that way? DO something for it.

So please SOMEONE! point me in the direction of a website that I can get the codec!

I´m really close to get mad and really angry.

Read this fuckin´ thread! READ IT. Now I´m still nice enough to point out the solutions:

-CCCP
-ffdshow

Now can you type into google "CCCP download" or "ffdshow download". Can you? Please? :?

Side not: WMP will never play all of your video files. It will play the common ones like mp4, but not really all files. END of the story.
You want a player that plays everything? KMPlayer.

very funny that it only took me a couple of seconds to find those settings you where searching =P

You only have two fucking options now...

Either
A: Use WMP and download and install CCCP
or
B: Use KMP (or maybe VLC) and get yourself comfortable with the interface and settings.

That's It.
