Kmplayer help

Postby 76 » Sun Feb 10, 2008 11:04 pm

I am having a problem with the "KMplayer"

Whenver I start a vid, the audio is always mis-synced.

the video will play fine, and the audio quality is all there, but the video doesn't keep up
with the audio. I was wondering why that was, its like this with every kind of file I play.

I play the vid, and it starts great, then I realize the voices aren't matching the mouths,
I click the seek bar back a couple secs, and it syncs back up, only to lose track again.

can anyone help me with this?

Are you having this problem with other players as well, or just with the KMPlayer?

The only other player I use is WMP, and it only plays the sound from most of the avi files I have....

Try K-Lite Mega Codec Pack then. Works great with every file extension and codec.
If you still experience playback problems, then it might be your computer which is low on CPU/RAM.

absolutely not
K-lite is screaming death on a plane full of snakes flying over the middle east with giant mutated land piranhas that can jump from the oceans of sand up to the plane and feed on aircraft aluminum

unfortunately I don't have an alternative

I agree with Kariudo (good wording btw XD)

The alternative: CCCP
it works fine for me, but I know some people where it killed their system D=

You know, I've been using K-Lite for years and it has always worked great. o_O
I don't really understand why it should be so bad.

Aside from the fact that it has redundant and conflicting codecs, it's very often packaged with viruses, adware, spyware, dialers, etc. because it was always given to people that knew shit about computers for years (the perfect targets). It's also how old?

Never had conflicting codec issues - I just check what I install when I install it. About adwares and various crap, never had any antivirus of any kind to worry me. About how old it is, the newest version is actually of the 5th of February.
Seriously, I don't see why it is bad. :?

So, because you don't know have any anti-virus software to tell you that your system is infected, means it's okay? I don't follow that logic.

So, can you give me a link of an antivirus that will actually prove that my PC is infected?

Damn, double post sorry. Just to clarify a thing: it's not that I don't have an antivirus. It's that I used various antiviruses in the past years, and none of them, including the one I am using now (Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0), never found anything. The other antiviruses I used were avast and avg.

Perhaps a language barrier or something, but that's not what you said. My response was tailored to what you said.

Also, adware, spyware, malware is often not picked up with antivirus software. Have you tried using Spybot or Adaware?

This is all tangential to the point that k-lite defines bad codec packs in general. It's history (5+ years IIRC) of throwing shit together regardless of conflicts and redundancy and the fact that 3rd partied packed it with malware and spread it all over the internet is reason enough for people to not trust it at all - that's why people don't.

Yeah, in italian that was understandable, but sometimes I forget that I have to say things differently in english...

I did use spybot search and destroy in past, but it didn't find anything as well.

Well, if there is so much people saying that it's bad, there must be a good reason...
Guess I'll get rid of it. Thanks for the explanation.
