failure of amvapp tests for reason other than ones listed

Postby jedi_rian » Sat Feb 09, 2008 8:40 pm

I get this failure message:

mplayer2.exe - Entry Point Not Found

The procedure entry point RunDIIW could not be located in the dynamic link library msdxm.ocs.

Is this because I have Vista? Avisynth won't work for me because of this, I think, although I don't really know what's wrong... my wmp works fine for me when I open it. It won't let me download another version of media player because I have wmp 11 for vista. What do I do?

Just pretend it never happened. The amvapp tests are known to fail on Vista but avisynth should still work fine.

That or if you wish, try running the program in compatibility mode with windows xp.

That's my main problem--avisynth doesn't work at all. I can't open avs files in virtualdubmod or do anything relating to avisynth. ><

what error(s) do you see when you try to open a .avs file in vdubmod?

That all depends on which disc I try to load, for reasons entirely unknown to me. I decrypted and indexed them all exactly the same, but disc 4 for some reason did not create an avs file except when I tried to run it through dubmod, and then it spontaneously created a default one for reasons unknown.

For discs 1-3--when I try open the avs files through dubmod I get this error message (it's kind of long winded):

VirtualDub Error

Avisynth open failure:
MPEG2Source: DGIndex/DGDecode mismatch. You are picking up a version of DGDecode, possibly from your plugins directory, that does not match the version of DGIndex used to make the D2V file. Search your hard disk for all copies of DGDecode.dll and delete or rename all of them except for the one that has the same version number as the DGIndex.exe that was used to make the D2V file.
(C:\Ariana\My AMV\Disc 1\DGIndex Project File\Disc1.avs, line 1)

When I tried doing as it suggested, I turned up NO versions of DGDecode of ANY kind, except a shortcut to a way to download it online for some reason.
Um... help?

For Disc 4:

VirtualDub Error

Avisynth open failure:
AVIFileSource: couldn't open file 'C:/Ariana/My AMV/Disc 4/DGIndex Project File/Disc4.d2v'
(C:/Ariana/My AMV/Disc 4/DGIndex Project File/Disc4--default.avs, line 2)

...?

Thanks for the advice, everyone! I figured it out--I borrowed an xp laptop and no problems so far. ;)
So all's well that ends well, eh? The next time I need to do it on my current laptop, maybe I'll have figured out what I did wrong.
Thanks again!

for your vista problem, you need to get the newest dgindex and dgdecode.dll (or any version really, you just need the version of dgindex and dgdecode to match)

http://neuron2.net/dgmpgdec/dgmpgdec.html

Download the executables zip. Extract and copy dgdecode to your plugins directory and remake your all of your d2v project files with the version of dgindex that is also in the zip.
