For my Spring semester, we're required to use Avid and Final Cut Pro. Ive messed around with Final Cut, has anyone used Avid?

.. Avid Free DV .. if you want to find out what Avid Express Pro is like, download AvidFreeDV -- its Free --Free-- Free to anyone who wants it. A few more options are available in the Pro Series but, you'll be waaaaaaay ahead others when you start school again because you'll be used to "how things are organized" when others are getting confused about its structure 8-)
.. I remember when Avid v3.0 was released, it could do everything Adobe Primiere 5.1 could do long before Primiere ever thought of doing things "that way" .. Avid sold off their lower end Editors a few years ago; only the Best of the Best remains.
.. Avid, very high end; very well thought out -- extremely easy to use, and a New Car cost's not much more :P

.. just checked at the Avid site, if you goto /products/freedv/tutorials/index.asp you'll find the Video Tutorials covering "how to use this software" .. "The tutorials are designed for anyone exploring video editing to provide an understanding of the Avid editing environment."

.. I believe that THAT helps a little ^_^ yeah!
